We have arrived! «Gamarjobat, dear guests!

Upon your arrival at Tbilisi International Airport, our friendly guide will welcome you and assist with the transfer to your hotel. Take some time to settle in and relax, preparing for the exciting adventure that lies ahead. If you're feeling adventurous, you can explore the charming streets of Tbilisi and soak in the unique blend of ancient architecture and modern vibes.

In the evening, the entire group will gather for a fun "dinner - acquaintance" event. We have two weeks ahead of us to spend together, and let this meeting blossom into warm friendship!

📌 Arrival in Tbilisi, transfer to the hotel, free time, dinner-acquaintance
📌 Participants arriving at Kutaisi airport will spend 3-4 hours on the way to Tbilisi.

Day 2. Two Capitals

Everyone knows that the capital of Georgia is Tbilisi! An ancient and beautiful city that has preserved its uniqueness and distinctiveness despite invasions, destruction, fires, and attempts of Sovietization. But not everyone knows that just a 15-minute drive from Tbilisi lies the first capital of the Georgian state, which was the capital even in the 3rd century BC! Well, everyone knows about Mtskheta, which is near Tbilisi and should definitely be visited, but did you know that Mtskheta is older than Tbilisi and that Roman legions once stood near its walls?

We will visit fortresses and ancient monasteries, the oldest Anchiskhati church, the Jvari Monastery considered a masterpiece of Georgian architecture, the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, and the ancient Samtavro Monastery that dates back to the adoption of Christianity by Georgia. We will explore the history of the 13 Assyrian Fathers and the monastery founded by one of them - Shio Mgvime.

And of course, we will have lunch at a restaurant by the Kura River and dinner with a winemaker from Kartli.

📌 Tbilisi, Old City, Anchiskhati Church, Dry Bridge, President Temple, Mtskheta, Jvari, Samtavro and Shio-Mgvime Monasteries, Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, winemaker

Day 3. Legends of the Kakheti Kingdom

Today we rise early. We are heading to Kakheti, the land of winemakers and fertile valleys. We will take you to places that are rarely visited by tourists, and even locals don't always know about the legendary sites nearby. We will visit the fortress city of Kvetera, which was once a powerful city-state but was abandoned by its inhabitants in the 13th century. Even now, old shepherds pass by this place!

Ahead of us are the castles of Kakheti nobility, a wine museum, lunch with a winemaker, and two more legends of Kakheti - the Alaverdi Cathedral and the Ikalto Monastery-Academy. You might be surprised to learn that as early as the 10th century, there was an academy in Kakheti where vine-growing and winemaking, mathematics and metalworking, linguistics, and medicine were taught.

On our way back to Tbilisi, we will also visit two monasteries, the Old and New Shuamta, located at the beginning of the picturesque Gombori Forest. And then we will have dinner at a roadside restaurant and return to our hotel.

📌 Kvetera Fortress, Alaverdi, Ikalto, Old and New Shuamta Monasteries, Wine Museum, Gombori pass, winmaker

Day 4. A Million Years Before

Today we become archaeologists for a while. Our journey takes us to Kvemo Kartli, to the village of Patara Dmanisi, where the Dmanisi Archaeological Museum-Reserve is located. This site features a medieval fortress, archaeological layers from the late Bronze Age, and a monument from the early Paleolithic period. The world learned about Dmanisi when archaeologists discovered human fragments here dating back 1.8 million years. It was in Dmanisi that the first European, the Dmanisi Man, appeared.

📌 Dmanisi Fortress, Archaeological Museum-Reserve, Dmanisi Monastery, Kveshi and Chapala Fortresses, winemaker

Day 5: Disciple of Simeon the Stylite

It's our last day in Tbilisi before heading to the sea. We visit the Martkopi Monastery and the tower of St. Anton Martkopeli. You'll learn about the disciple of Simeon the Stylite who came to Georgia in the 6th century with the Icon of Christ Not Made by Hands and founded this monastery. The monastery offers breathtaking views, and if the weather is good, you can see Tbilisi from the observation deck. We'll have a picnic in this picturesque location, enjoying kebabs, wine, fresh vegetables/fruits, nature, and wonderful stories.

On our way back, we'll enjoy views of the Tbilisi Sea, visit the "History of Georgia" monument, and have dinner at a restaurant in a natural setting. As it gets dark, we'll admire the illuminated night view of Tbilisi from the Mtatsminda Mountain viewpoint and descend to the city by funicular.

Day 6: Two Legends on the Way to the Sea

Early in the morning, we leave our cozy hotel and head towards the sea. But there are still discoveries awaiting us along the way. We'll visit the beautiful Samtavisi Monastery with its unique stone carvings, beautiful frescoes, and rich history.

Before bidding farewell to Eastern Georgia, we'll visit another legend, this time related to the filmmaker Sergey Parajanov. We'll explore the Surami Fortress. As we pass through the tunnel into Western Georgia, we'll arrive at the picturesque Rikoti Pass, where we'll have lunch at a restaurant overlooking the gorge. However, we'll have a quick lunch since we have more destinations ahead: Kutaisi and the Prometheus Cave.

By the end of this eventful day and a long journey, we'll finally reach the SEA! At the hotel, dinner and relaxation await us.

📌 Samtavisi Monastery, Surami Fortress, Kutaisi, Prometheus Cave, Sea!

Days 7 to 11: The Sea!

Sun, black sand, warm sea, and a pine forest on the shore. No one will bother or interrupt you to explore another legend or taste Georgian cuisine and wine. Just enjoy your vacation.

Within walking distance or nearby, you can visit the Dendrological Park, the beautiful Music Park, the city of Poti with its magnificent Cathedral (a smaller copy of the Hagia Sophia in Constantinople), the stunning Paleostomi Lake, the city of Kobuleti with Tsitsinatela amusement park and a miniature park (Georgia in miniature). Taxis to all these locations can be arranged at the reception.

Guides will only be available on the 11th day in the afternoon to take you to a unique restaurant nestled in the mountains, on the banks of a crystal-clear river with its own fish farm. There, you'll have the opportunity to taste the incredibly delicious baked sturgeon paired with a few glasses of homemade Tsolikauri wine!

📌 Free time for your rest. You can always call our guides for an additional excursion or assistance

Day 12: The Adventures Continue

We wake up early and head to the Martvili Canyon with its turquoise waters, picturesque gorge, and boat rides through the canyon. Next, we'll visit Kutaisi and the Gelati Monastery, where, it is believed, the tomb of the most famous King of Georgia, David the Builder, is located. Many Georgian kings are buried in Gelati, and there is also the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God with its unique preserved frescoes.

After lunch, we continue our journey towards Tbilisi. Just before reaching the Rikoti Pass, we'll make a stop to see another lesser-known monastery with frescoes that are unlike any other paintings. The Ubisi Monastery is more akin to works of art by a painter.

In the evening, we'll gather for a "Farewell Dinner." But don't shed any tears! Every goodbye is a precursor to a new meeting with good friends.
